GEN ART is one of the leading arts and entertainment organization dedicated to showcasing emerging fashion designers, filmmakers, musicians and visual artists. In 2003, they selected local San Francisco designers to create an Andy Warhol inspired collection for their Diamond Dust fashion show at the Museum of Modern Art, San Francisco. Hoekstra was inspired by Warhol's idea of using everyday objects as art. Her chosen medium for the collection was kitchen wax paper. She also made custom fabric using the graphic images from the Brillo pad box that Warhol made famous.
