   Alison Hoekstra earned a fine art degree from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD) and soon after graduation moved to California. Her years in San Francisco led her in many creative directions. She owned and operated Retrofit Vintage for 8 years where she originated an in-house clothing line known as THE FIT. She worked on independent films and commercials propping sets and wardrobe. Her sewing skills led her to work with high end design firms executing custom sewing and upholstery jobs. In addition to these creative directions, her focus on fine art was continuous.
  In 2006 she returned to Minneapolis to start HDesign Studio and works as a freelance photo/wardrobe stylist. HDesign Studio is located in Northeast Minneapolis and is a culmination of her various skills and freelance work. It consists of the production of THE FIT, custom sewing, upholstery and houses a collection of vintage and modern props.
